More about digital products and courses

It's important to understand that while all courses are digital products, not all digital products are courses. For example, you can deliver graphic templates, software, downloadable ebooks, info sheets, and helpful resources as digital products without them being courses.

We allow you to create your lessons in whatever way works best for you. In a single lesson, you can include multiple videos or PDF documents, links, and rich text. The text, links, images, and videos can also be arranged in any sequence you prefer.

Let's look at how to add different types of content to your product.

๐Ÿ“‘  Note: Whether you're creating a digital product or a course, you'll create module/s and add content to lesson/s to provide structure to your product.

How to add rich content, links, and images

You can copy your content into Voma from existing digital products or courses, or create new content from scratch.

๐Ÿ“‘  Note: As you build your product, remember that you can also add PDFs and videos to your product as explained in the sections below!

  1. Click on the lesson where you want to add the content and create your lesson by using the Lesson Content editor.

  2. Now start building your product by adding:
    • Text:
      • You can apply various styling options to your text, including Bold, Italics, Underline, and Strikethrough.
      • To give structure to your lesson, itโ€™s important to use:

        • Paragraph Format - This gives you the option to use pre-set formatting for text in paragraphs, different-sized headings, and even code.
        • Align - Align text to the left, right, center, or justify.
        • Lists - To create numbered or bulleted lists.
        • Indents - These control the distance from the left margin.
    • Links:
      • To insert a link to an external URL, click on the Insert Link icon.
      • Type or paste the URL and text you want to display in your lesson and tick the checkbox if you want the link to open in a new tab.
      • Click Insert
    • Images:
      • Click on the Insert Image icon to upload an image from your device.
      • You can click on the inserted image for more editing options like adding links, captions, alternative text, and more.
  3. When youโ€™re done, head to the top right corner of your screen and click Save

How to add PDF's

PDF is a consistent, secure way to distribute valuable content that your customers can also print out or download for offline use.

  1. Under the Files section in your lesson, select Upload a PDF.
  2. Choose the PDF you want to upload and click Upload 1 File.
  3. Your file will now be listed under Files, from where you can view, rename, or delete it.

๐Ÿ“‘  Note: The maximum file size for a PDF is 25MB, but there's no limit to the number of PDF documents you can add to a lesson.

How to add videos

You can embed one or more YouTube, Wistia, Vimeo, or Loom video/s to a lesson. You can also control the placement of your video/s within your lesson, it doesn't have to be at the top.

  1. Head to the lesson where you want to add the video, and click on insert video .
  2. Paste the video URL into the space provided. You also have the option to select the Autoplay option. Click Insert.
  3. After inserting the video, you can click on the video to open up additional editing options. You'll be able to replace the video with another video, delete it, or select/change the autoplay option.

๐Ÿ’ก  Tip: If you don't have a suitable video platform yet, Loom is one of the options you can consider.

How to publish and preview your changes

While you're still working on your digital product or course, you can keep your lessons in Draft mode until youโ€™re ready to publish it.

Whenever you want to preview your changes, set the status of the lesson you want to preview to Live and click Preview. Change the status back to Draft until your product is ready to go live.

You can simply change the status of your lesson to Live when you feel you're ready to publish it.
